Attention Shadyside Families:
Due to the government shutdown and the general economic stress about food - The Shadyside Local School District along with local churches, businesses and Fire Department are having a community food drive!
Anyone willing and able, may drop off Non-perishable foods, formula, diapers, gift cards to local groceries, and items such as toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc. to the OR&W Fire Department on Central Avenue daily between 8am and 7pm now through Thursday, November 6 at noon.
Families and individuals who may want some assistance may pick-up supplies at Shadyside High School on Thursday, November 6th from - 5pm-7pm. This is available for all residents of Shadyside (any age) and our families of students currently enrolled in the school district as a resident or open enrolled.
We would also like to remind students enrolled in Shadyside Schools and their families that we have a food program that we call the Backpack Program. This opportunity is in place to support families with food. This program is also FREE and available at all three schools! You can sign up for this program by calling your child's office. We will increase the amount of bags available for students at Leona Middle School and Shadyside High School to grab if they wish.
Another resource to utilize is the Shadyside Food Pantry for all items previously mentioned. The number for the Shadyside Food Pantry is 740-676-5936.
Any questions regarding these opportunities or contributions, please contact any school office or school/district administrator for assistance.
Thank you for supporting our Shadyside community!
