10 Important Changes with FAFSA

-The New FAFSA form for 2024-2025 school year will open in December 

An exact date has NOT been announced yet. However, the FAFSA legally must be opened by 12:00am January 1st. Since this is the case, it is advised to be prepared and ready by at least December 31st. 

However, this also means that the FAFSA could open at an earlier date in December.

-First Step: FSA ID

The very first step MUST be to create your FSA ID before filling out the FAFSA form. In the past, you could create an FSA ID during the form process. With the new changes the FSA ID must be created first (Takes about 3-4 business days to go through once created). The criteria as to whom will be creating an FSA ID with you can be a bit confusing so please review the information posted on this page. 

FAFSA night at Shadyside High School

A representative from Belmont will be conducting a FAFSA information night/workshop on Wednesday, December 13th @ 6:00pm in the multipurpose room. This will be a good opportunity to gain more knowledge and understanding of how to navigate the process and any questions in regards to the initial creation of the FSA IDs.
